Our client, a Private Sterile Services Company based in the London area, are currently recruiting for 6x vacancies for Sterile Services Technicians to work on a permanent basis within their decontamination hub!
As a sterile services technician you will provide a high quality service for the cleaning inspection, assembly and packing of sterile equipment for hospital and community settings. You will have a flexible approach to work and duties within the sterile services department.

You will be working within a team environment, liaising with staff of all levels, and organising your own daily work within allocated areas, working unsupervised in the absence of a supervisor/team leader.
Duties of the Sterile Services Technician
-Rigorously check, wash, lay-up and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
-Operate and monitor machines and equipment safely and effectively
-Ensure faulty or repaired instruments are dealt with appropriately.
-Manual dexterity and the ability to use complex equipment for example, including disassembly, inspection, decontamination, packaging and sterilisation of surgical instrumentation to predetermined standards.
-Daily testing of Autoclaves and washers/disinfectors and related equipment.
-Good knowledge of all surgical instruments and identify trays used.
-Assembling instruments and checking for safety and correct function in accordance with departmental procedures, specifications and best practice.
-Comply with health and safety guidelines.
-Participate in staff development and training initiatives.
-Continuous Professional Development remains a priority.
The successful Sterile Services Technicians will need at least 2 years experience working within UK hospitals and hold a valid CRB certificate along with Hep B immunisations. This role requires a confident individual with excellent communication skills and a dedicated approach to work.
