Sexual Health Nurse Practitioner

Our client a leading sexual health charity are looking to recruit a dynamic independent part-time Sexual Health Nurse to work alongside young offenders working in conjunction with HM Prison Service GP’s.

You will be responsible for the management and delivery of sexual health clinics with the YOI, to be supportive of the development of YOI based sexual health services, and to develop sexual health promotion of young offenders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Practice (advanced)
STI testing, treatment and care
HIV POC testing including pre-post discussion and confirmatory veno-puncture
Hepatitis B vaccination
Routine HIV and Hepatitis C monitoring to consultant care plan
Sexual health education

Essential Requirements
Education:
RGN Qualification
ENB 934, 276, N07 or equivalent

Experience:
Has or is working towards a relevant degree
Min 3 years Post Registration experience
Current Sexual health experience
Knowledge of national and local sexual health strategies

Skills:
Veno-puncture skills
Competent to undertake male genital examination and obtaining appropriate relevant swabs
Proven oral and written communication skills

Effective interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic an positive
Ability to work on own
Non judgemental towards sex, and able to discuss openly and confidently

Salary: £21,316 p.a. (including London allowance) (£35,526 pro-rata)
