Medacs Healthcare are currently recruiting a whole-time post for an associate specialist in Neurology in Jersey.
Your duties will include but not limited to provision to the Hospital, with your consultant and other medical colleagues, of a service in Neurology and General Medicine, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and the proper functioning of the department.
The nature of the post demands that the successful candidate has extensive experience in all aspects of neurological medicine and has acquired a broad base of clinical experience in general medical specialties.
The post holder will also have to cover the general medical take as an on call commitment and undertake the handover of patients as required as per the agreed protocols.
Training, if required, for nerve conduction and EMG plus the opportunity to develop a local EEG service.
It is expected that the appointee will have a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, with a minimum of four years spent as a Registrar, Specialist Registrar or Staff Grade, at least two of these four years to have been whole time (or whole time equivalent) within Neurology specialty.
The post holder will require full registration with the UK General Medical Council.
The post holder must have sufficient fluency in English to carryout his/her duties safely and effectively.
