Bupa Home Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Community Based Nurse specialist in the delivery of Intravenous Therapies. This position is community based covering the Essex and East Hertfordshire border.
 
You will work closely with patients and their families to ensure a high standard of care is delivered. You will plan patient centred care according to their needs. You will also liaise with a wider multidisciplinary team and when required assist with discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home. 
 
We provide a range of IV Therapies in the Community including IV antibiotics, TPN/HPN, and growth hormones. Previous IV, TPN and PICC line experience is essential.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
           Assess, plan and implement ongoing care to patients. 
           Providing Intravenous care including Antibiotics, HPN/TPN, growth hormones and MS patients.
           Communicate with the patient and keep the family well informed
           Document all aspects of care delivered
           Respect patients dignity

We are looking for a Community Nurse Manager who will be working closely with paediatric patients and their families. You will ensure that a high standard of care is delivered by your nursing team which consists of Community Nurses and Clinical Support Workers. 
 
You will plan patient centred care according to their needs. Patients have complex care requirements including tracheotomy and ventilators. Previous experience of these clinical skills is preferable. You’ll respect our client’s dignity, wishes and beliefs and involve them and their family in decisions of care being undertaken.
 
The ideal candidate will be able to make decision and remain calm in emergency situations, whilst providing reassurance to the patient and family. You will co-ordinate and work as part of a team to ensure a quality and effective service is provided, therefore, previous management experience is desirable. This is a paediatric role so you must be comfortable working with young children.

NMC Registered Nurse Part 1 and will hold a Theatre qualification.  Must have Anaesthetics experience.  Up to date sound clinical knowledge.  Anaesthetics, sedatives, muscle relaxants, analgesics and emergency drugs.  Intubation, extubation and resuscitation of patients.  Spinal, epidural and general anaesthetics.  Competent in IV therapies .  Competent in Catheterisation.  Knowledge of Infection control policy and procedures.

Ideally you will have experience in anaesthetic nursing with a good working knowledge of a wide range of anaesthetic procedures covering a range of surgical specialities. We would particularly love to hear from those with experience in cardiac or orthopaedic anaesthesia.

Checking and ensuring  anaesthetic apparatus and equipment is maintained and in good working order.  Assessing, implementing and evaluating patient care delivery.  Taking part in “on-call” as required.  Being part of the resuscitation team.  Ensuring adequate levels of stock are maintained.  Completing all required documents including charge sheets. 

Assisting in the setting and maintenance of clinical standards and implementation of clinical audits.  Undertake any other duties as requested by senior members of staff.  Provide a supportive environment for staff joining the department and undertake training as appropriate .  Induct new members of staff to the department and communicate clearly being aware of legal requirements.

We are looking for Nurses who will work closely with Oncology patients to provide a range of cancer treatments including various Chemotherapy and other cytotoixic regimes. You will work from patient’s homes to provide a high standard of tailored care to meet their individual needs.
 
The Job:
·       You will work from patients homes, giving you the opportunity to provide hands on patient care and build lasting relationships with patients and their families
·       Conducting all health checks, checking blood results, administering Chemotherapy drugs and monitoring patient progress
·       You will educate and inform patients on their condition, their treatments and possible side effects
·       Autonomous role – You have the flexibility to manage your own work load in accordance with the priorities of the role.
·       Liaising with consults from NHS trusts to give full up-dates on patients and work closely with them to identify other potential patients for home Healthcare services
·       As the service grows you will assist the lead Nurse in recruiting and then managing your own team.
 
 
The Skills:
