Oral Maxillo Facial Specialist Surgeon
Southampton

Hays Healthcare is currently looking for a Specialist Surgeon in Oral maxillo Facial Surgery to work in a leading Independent NHS Orthopaedic Treatment Centre. The centre has been created to reduce waiting times for diagnosis and elective surgery, and increase patient choice. The centre was opened in 2008 and is therefore fully equipped with the latest technology.

This is a substantive role to lead the OMF service and training of junior medical and dental staff at the treatment centre. There is a mix of new patient assessments and procedures. You will have operational and educational responsibilities with the Junior staff, who are deanery trainees as well as providing emergency or urgent assessment as requested by the RMO on duty. Time table will be schedules on a two week rota basis and include chair time, Theatre time and Education and Training time in each week.

Essential qualifications include BDS, MFDS/FDSRCS, Full registration with the GDC, Oral surgery specialist listing with the GDC or OMF listing withthe GMC. Completeion of SAC approved training would be desireable. Yu'll have a minumum of 3 years experience at staff grade level and broad general OMF experience. You'll also be actively interested in training and development of junior staff.

The role is full time - 40 hours per week in 10 PA's. 8 Clinical duties PA's and 2 sessions allocated to supporting professional activities. Salary is up to 88k per annum with up to 15% annual bonus subject to agreed performance measures. 25 Days Annual Leaver per annum plus 8 days Bank Holidays is included as well as Life assurance a 2 x value of the salary, pension at 1% contribution by both parties and removal expenses of up to a £1000 maximum. This role is a minimum of 1 year fixed term contract or permanent subject to satisfactory completion of a 3 month Probationary period
