Duties of the post
 
The main responsibilities of the post lie within critical care and encompass clinical duties (in and out of hours) education, clinical governance and other responsibilities. In addition anaesthesia sessions will be offered according to personal choice and departmental needs. Initially the post holder will be attached to Critical Care full time to undergo a period of induction and intensive supervision so that they will gain confidence and independence in order to provide clinical care with more distant supervision.

SENIOR CLINICAL FELLOW IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE
 
 
HCL International urgently require Doctors for position as a Junior/Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine situated in Lancashire.
 
The post is Full Time.
 
The Senior Clinical Fellow will be employed for twelve, four hour sessions each week. It is a full shift system with no on-call commitment. Applicants should preferably have a higher qualification and wide experience in Emergency Medicine having completed at least three years full-time regular hospital service in the Senior House Officer or higher grade of which 1 year should be in Emergency Medicine.
 
 The salary range for a Senior post is £40 - £65000 while for Junior position is £30 - £45000 depending on experience.
 
The ideal candidate should have the following educational and work experience:
·         Broad range of A & E experience including Emergency Medicine
·         Full time regular hospital service with at proven experience in Emergency Medicine
·         Experience in other specialities e.g. Acute Medicine, Paediatrics, Critical Care
·         Comprehensive patient management ability. Ability to train/supervise junior medical staff, medical students and emergency nurse practitioners.
·         MBBS or equivalent

General Medicine - Middle Grade NEEDED

 

HCL International are currently recruiting for Middle Grade Doctors in General Medicine to work in one of the UK's largest Teaching Trusts incorporating 5 hospitals. They provide around one million appointments and operations a year and offer almost every kind of treatment available through the NHS.

 

This NHS Trust is one of the UK's largest teaching Trusts which serves a population of over a million people and has won several awards for outstanding performance.

 

The hospital has around 850 beds for the care of inpatients and a number of specialist outpatient clinics including a prosthetic eye department and specialist ophthalmology centre. An NHS Walk in Centre and Minor Injuries Unit offer services for people with small injuries that that can be treated without the need for emergency care.

 

Applicants must be able to register with the GMC and NEED TO BE ABLE TO START BETWEEN NOVEMBER 2009 AND JANUARY 2010!

 

- Duties consist of the day to day care of inpatients on surgical or medical wards, including the routine clerking of patients and organising their routine investigations as well as performing appropriate practical procedures such as (but not limited to) venepuncture, IV cannulation, arterial puncture, blood cultures, skin suturing, lumbar puncture and pleural aspiration.

 

- Applicants should have the ability to recognise acutely sick patients and be competent in performing an initial assessment of their status and be able to plan an initial appropriate management strategy.

 

-Duties also include the attendance at designated ward rounds, participation in the out of hours care (“on call”) for the hospital, teaching of medical students and attendance at department or directorate training and teaching sessions when requested to do so.

Teaching
 
The Department has a very active teaching programme.
 
There will be a weekly 2-hour teaching period. This programme has received positive evaluations from previous trainees. The Department has won the postgraduate teaching award for several years running.
 
The Department runs Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Life Support Courses.

Position: Anaesthetics

 

HCL International urgently require Doctors in Emergency anaesthesia based in one of the largest acute NHS Trust in the country; Birmingham Area.

 

The principle duties would be to provide service support for elective and emergency anaesthesia on all sites in the Trust.  There will also be a requirement to provide specialist anaesthetic input into obstetrics and critical care.

 

The post-holder will be expected to be committed to Continuing Professional Development that satisfies the criteria set by the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

 

Post holders would be expected to participate in the Intensive care training and education curriculum based in the Heartlands Hospital to ensure in-service training requirements matched the post's requirements. Also he/she will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of the service.

 

Candidate must have the minimum of two years within speciality of anaesthesia

Demonstrate knowledge, skill and experience in each area of anaesthesia specified in job plan. Must be able to demonstrate competency in intensive care and obstetric anaesthesia.

 

Must have or be eligible for Full GMC Registration.
